Womens Health Assessment

60 minute £80.00 initial assessment

At your first appointment we will begin by discussing your symptoms, treatment so far, and what your aims and goals are. A thorough assessment will be completed and depending on the reason for the appointment will typically include a postural assessment and review of your core musculature using the latest technology of real-time ultrasound. Within this session you will likely be offered an internal pelvic floor examination – this allows the assessment of the muscles of your pelvic floor – their strength, position and function. Based on this assessment a treatment plan will be discussed and started to correct any dysfunctions that have been identified.

Mummy MOT

60 MINUTE assessment & treatment £80.00

The MummyMOT® is a postnatal detailed physiotherapy assessment of the abdominal and pelvic area and is recommended for all postnatal mums from 6 weeks onward, before returning to exercise. The assessment includes an assessment of your posture, breathing, tummy gap and pelvic floor strength. At FitFRAME physio we use real-time ultrasound to assess both abdominal and pelvic floor contraction giving you a unique opportunity to see your muscles working on screen. You will receive a report of the findings on the day. Following the assessment an appropriate and safe exercise programme will be prescribed.

The MummyMOT System combines the principles of physiotherapy assessment with the practice of functional retraining. Following delivery postural changes, muscle imbalances and altered alignment occur and can persist. It is essential to correct and rebalance otherwise pain, prolapse, urinary incontinence or recti diastasis (tummy separation) will persist. Mums need to bend, lift, squat and twist every day to look after their little ones -it is essential that we look after ourselves too.

The MummyMOT identifies muscle imbalances through the assessment and the restorative exercise programme corrects them, regaining stability and allowing optimal function.

Follow up Sessions

30 MINUTE £50 • 60MIN £70

After your initial assessment we will discuss with you the recommended treatment plan and advise on the number and length of sessions going forward to provide you with the appropriate care to help you reach your goals.

Follow up sessions typically include a combination of hands-on treatment to ease any aches and pains and to restore normal biomechanics. A graded progression of your home exercise plan is also discussed and practised to ensure improvement and longlasting results.

Pregnancy Massage

60minutes £65.00

Pregnancy massage is specially adapted to treat specific aches and pains for expectant mothers.

Pregnancy massage can be carried out after the first trimester and can help with:

  • Aches and pain associated with pregnancy such as low back pain and pelvic pain

  • Mind and body relaxation

  • Reduction in anxiety

  • Improved sleep

  • Reducing foot and ankle swelling

Pregnancy massage should always be carried out by a qualified practitioner and here at FitFRAME physiotherapy this will be with our Physiotherapist Emily Smith. Emily is also specially trained in techniques to treat pregnancy related back and pelvic girdle pain and so this can also be discussed in your session.

I cannot recommend Claire highly enough. Two ventouse-assisted deliveries thanks to two posterior babies left me with toileting issues. Seeing Claire was life-changing. Not only did she put me at ease for what is very intimate physio treatment, she also gave me great feedback on the cause of my toileting problems. She then gave me an exercise programme and I gradually became stronger. I also recommended her to a friend who could not sit through a film without going for a wee and she helped her get her freedom back as previously she could never be far from a toilet.
